Maejo University to Host the 51st Thailand University Games “Intanin Games 2026

Associate Professor Dr. Rapeephun Dangtungee, Dean of the International College, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Winitra Leelapattana, Associate Dean, represented the International College of Maejo University at the official press conference for the 51st Thailand University Games, titled “Intanin Games 2026.”
The event was organized to formally announce Maejo University as the official host of the upcoming national sporting competition for university athletes across Thailand. The Games aim to promote sportsmanship, strengthen unity among higher education institutions, and encourage physical and mental well-being among students nationwide.
The press conference highlighted Maejo University’s readiness in terms of facilities, sports infrastructure, and organizational management to welcome athletes, coaches, staff, and supporters from universities throughout the country.
Maejo University expressed its commitment to delivering a memorable and successful event, showcasing the university’s identity and the charm of Chiang Mai, while promoting tourism, culture, and youth development through sports.

📢 The 7th i-RESEAT 2025 International Conference
Maejo University had the honor of co-hosting the 7th i-RESEAT 2025 International Conference in collaboration with Vellore Institute of Technology – Chennai, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, K L University, Feng Chia University, National Ilan University, Sri Vidya Mandir College, and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
On the second day of the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, was honored as a distinguished keynote speaker, delivering a special lecture.
🌍 The conference aimed to disseminate research and innovation outcomes, strengthen international academic collaboration, and promote the practical application of knowledge by providing a platform for researchers, academics, industry professionals, and students to exchange ideas and experiences.
🌱 The conference was organized under the main theme “BCG toward Carbon Neutrality”, supporting sustainable development at both national and global levels.
The closing ceremony was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, who delivered the closing address and presented certificates of recognition to the presenters.

Maejo University Strengthens Academic Ex...

As part of the China–ASEAN academic engagement activities, Dr. Prakash Murgeppa Bhuyar, Director of the Institute of Innovative Agricultural Research (IIAR), and Assistant Dean of International College, Maejo University, delivered a special invited academic lecture at the College of Agriculture, Guangxi University on 20 December 2025.
The lecture, titled “Transforming Agriculture Through Innovation: Pathways to Climate-Smart Food Systems,” focused on innovation-driven approaches to climate-smart agriculture, sustainable food systems, and the integration of science, technology, and policy to address global climate and food security challenges. Faculty members, researchers, and students actively participated in the session, reflecting strong academic interest and engagement.
This academic activity was conducted alongside the official visit of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, further reinforcing institutional ties between Maejo University and Guangxi University. Discussions during the visit highlighted opportunities for future collaboration in joint research, capacity building, curriculum development, and climate-smart agricultural innovation.
The lecture and academic exchange mark another important step in strengthening China–ASEAN cooperation in higher education and advancing shared goals for sustainable and resilient agricultural systems.

Maejo University Pays Courtesy Visit to ...

Following the Annual Conference of the China–ASEAN Agriculture and Forestry Education–Industry Integration Alliance, the delegation from Maejo University paid a courtesy visit to Guangxi University and Faculty of Agriculture in Nanning, People’s Republic of China.
The delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, and included Dr. Prakash Murgeppa Bhuyar, Assistant Dean, International College, Maejo University.
During the visit, the delegation toured the Guangxi University Museum, gaining insights into the institution’s history, academic heritage, and contributions to regional development. The visit also included meetings with the Faculty of Agriculture, where both sides exchanged views on future collaboration in agricultural education, joint research programs, faculty and student exchange, and innovation-led approaches to sustainable agriculture.
This visit highlights the shared commitment of Maejo University and Guangxi University to strengthening China–ASEAN academic cooperation in agriculture and forestry, and it laid a strong foundation for future collaborative initiatives supporting sustainable and high-quality regional development.

Assistant Professor Dr. Winitra Leelapattana was assigned by the University President to attend the International Relations Officers Meeting (4/2025) under the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT).

Maejo University proudly participated in the Annual Conference of the China–ASEAN Agriculture and Forestry Education–Industry Integration Alliance, held on 18–19 December 2025 at the Wharton International Hotel, Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China.
On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, joined the conference as an invited distinguished guest and took part in a high-level roundtable forum on “Digital Empowerment and Green Efficiency: AI-Driven High-Quality Development of Agriculture and Forestry and Regional Collaboration.”
