📢 The 7th i-RESEAT 2025 International Conference
Maejo University had the honor of co-hosting the 7th i-RESEAT 2025 International Conference in collaboration with Vellore Institute of Technology – Chennai, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, K L University, Feng Chia University, National Ilan University, Sri Vidya Mandir College, and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
On the second day of the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, was honored as a distinguished keynote speaker, delivering a special lecture.
🌍 The conference aimed to disseminate research and innovation outcomes, strengthen international academic collaboration, and promote the practical application of knowledge by providing a platform for researchers, academics, industry professionals, and students to exchange ideas and experiences.
🌱 The conference was organized under the main theme “BCG toward Carbon Neutrality”, supporting sustainable development at both national and global levels.
The closing ceremony was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, who delivered the closing address and presented certificates of recognition to the presenters.

On February 6, 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Winitra Leelapattana; Associate Dean of the International College; and Dr. Prakash Murgeppa Bhuyar, Assistant Dean of the International College, participated in a merit-making ceremony organized by the Faculty of Animal Science and Technology, Maejo University.
The ceremony was held for the faculty members and experimental animals under the project “Preserving Cultural Identity in Animal Science.” The event took place at Room 2204, the main conference hall of the Faculty of Animal Science and Technology.
The purpose of the ceremony was to bring auspiciousness and good fortune to the faculty administrators, staff, and students

On Thursday, 5 February 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, together with the university’s executive team, welcomed Dr. Hae Woo Lee, President of Dong-A University, Republic of Korea, and his delegation on the occasion of their visit to Maejo University at the University Office Building, Maejo University.
On this occasion, Maejo University and Dong-A University, Republic of Korea, jointly held a ceremony to sign an academic cooperation agreement aimed at promoting collaboration in education and the exchange of academic staff between the two institutions.

On February 2–3, 2026.
The trip was organized and led by Associate Professor Dr. Rapeephun Dangtungee, Dean of the International College, and Mr. Warunsiri Sujinda, Director of the International College, together with faculty members Asst. Prof. Dr. Danaikrit Inthurit, Dr. Watcharanan Thongma, Dr. Prakash Murgeppa Bhuyar Dr. Krittiya Tongkoo, and Ajarn Roger R. Hale. Staff of the International College also participated.
Day 1 (February 2, 2026)
• The activities began with academic site visits to the Mae Wang Onion Cooperative and the onion cultivation fields, followed by a visit to the Mae Wang Dairy Cooperative.
• Next, students participated in bamboo rafting on the Mae Wang River, an activity that encouraged teamwork, and close interaction with nature.
• In the evening, students joined a cooking workshop and recreational activities in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Day 2 (February 3, 2026)
• Students studied community-based economic development and agriculture by visiting the Royal Agricultural Research Center, Khun Wang, located within Doi Inthanon National Park. They enjoyed agro-tourism activities while admiring the beauty of highland fruit orchards in full bloom, including pears, plums, peaches, nectarines, and strawberries. Students were guided by staff along designated learning routes and explored agricultural experimental plots within the center. Key learning areas included highland fruit orchards, coffee plantations, a coffee hulling facility, and a macadamia testing plot. In addition, students experienced the breathtaking beauty of Himalayan cherry blossoms (Thai Sakura) in full bloom, with vibrant pink flowers across the area. The Royal Agricultural Research experience left a lasting impression on all participants. This field trip provided valuable knowledge, practical experience, life skills, and strengthened positive relationships between students and faculty members.

On Tuesday, 3 February 2026,
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerapon Thongma,, President of Maejo University, together with Assistant Presidents, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Agro-Industry, and the Associate Dean of the International College, warmly welcomed Dr. Sung-Chi Hsu, Vice President of Chaoyang University of Technology, and Dr. Ru-Chu Shih, Director of the Office of International Affairs at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), along with executives and project managers of the Taiwan–Thailand INTACT Base.
The delegation visited Maejo University to discuss academic collaboration on the establishment of the Taiwan–Thailand International Talent Circulation Base (INTACT Base) at Maejo University, Chiang Mai Province. The INTACT Base is envisioned as a central hub for knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and human resource development aligned with the current demands of the international labor market. Its objective is to promote educational cooperation between academic institutions and industry sectors, fostering and developing high-potential students for further education and creating employment opportunities in Taiwan.
In addition, the delegation toured learning and operational facilities in agricultural engineering and food engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Agro-Industry.

Prof. Dr. Winitra Leelapatana, Associate Dean of the International College, and Mr. Warunsiri Sujinda, Director of the International College, together with faculty members and staff, participated in the 1st Baan Pong Trail event. The event was organized to promote physical exercise and a healthy lifestyle while fostering environmental awareness and the conservation of natural resources. This activity also aimed to raise funds for the Baan Pong Forest Fire Management Fund, which will be used to support the care, prevention, and mitigation of forest fire problems in urban-adjacent forest areas—an important issue that significantly affects air quality, ecosystems, and the quality of life of local communities. 🌱

Maejo University representatives participated in the “100 Days of Loyalty” commemorative event, organized in observance of the 100-day mourning period following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, on Saturday, 31 January 2021, at the 80th Anniversary Commemorative Public Park, Chiang Mai Provincial Government Complex, Chang Phueak Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province.
This participation reflected the university’s expression of loyalty and served as a solemn tribute in remembrance of the immeasurable royal grace and benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, whose dedication and invaluable contributions to the nation remain deeply revered by the Thai people.

The visit focused on sharing experiences and best practices in curriculum development, enhancing effective teaching and learning support, promoting academic programs at the international level, and establishing international collaboration networks. In addition, the delegation visited the Sirindhorn Chinese Language and Culture Center to learn about its operations and language and cultural activities.

On 26 January 2026, a delegation from Maejo University international College successfully carried out an official visit to the Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences (JAAS) in Nanjing, People’s Republic of China. The Maejo University delegation was led by: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rapeephun Dangtunjee – Dean, International College, Dr. Prakash Murgeppa Bhuyar – Assistant Dean, International College and Director (IIAR) along with Mr. Warunsiri Sujinda – Director, International College.
During the visit, the delegation participated in academic discussions and an on-site inspection at the JAAS Industrialization Base, focusing on straw substrate block production technologies, including straw fermentation, substrate formulation, and automated molding processes.
On this occasion, Dr. Prakash Murgeppa Bhuyar also presented and reported on recent ongoing and completed projects at Maejo University, highlighting the university’s initiatives in sustainable agriculture, agricultural innovation, and research collaboration, and exploring potential areas for future joint research with JAAS. This visit marks an important step in strengthening academic cooperation, research collaboration, and knowledge exchange between Maejo University and leading agricultural research institutions in China, contributing to the advancement of low-carbon and sustainable agricultural development. Maejo University International College remains committed to enhancing international partnerships in support of innovation, sustainability, and global agricultural advancement.
