On Friday, August 22, 2025, the Research Promotion and Development Office, Maejo University, organized a Research Forum under the theme “Techniques for Applying
International Research Grants: Insights, Experiences, and Building International Research Networks.”
The forum was honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, who presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a special address. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of international research collaboration in enhancing the university’s academic excellence and global reputation. He also encouraged faculty members to actively seek opportunities for international research funding to contribute to sustainable development both domestically and internationally.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Metha Wattanapanit, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, Academic Council Committee, Maejo University, who shared experiences and strategies in applying for international research grants and establishing global research collaborations.
In addition, Dr. Kanjana Sommitr from the International College and Dr. Nitath Boonyapaisansatit from the Faculty of Liberal Arts were invited as guest speakers. They shared their valuable experiences in conducting international research and presented a practical case study on securing funding from the Mekong Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (MLCSF).
This forum provided essential knowledge, practical techniques, and inspiring experiences for Maejo University faculty members, aiming to strengthen their capacity to access international research funding and expand academic networks at the global level.
